I've been at Howmet for about ten years now, and many of you already know who I am. For those of you who don't, allow me to tell you a little about the path that brought me here. My first exposure to the mill was as summer help, where I filled a number of different roles around the mill. From electric anneal, to melt shop builder, to cleaning out oil pits, I learned my way around. After growing up in the RMI family, I knew a lot of folks here, and I got to meet a lot more as summer help.

     After finishing college with a business degree, I came back to the mill and found myself drafted into the machine grind area, driving one of those big high lifts. You learn pretty quick how hard it is to be delicate with that kind of machinery.

     From there, I made the jump to the C&T Union and the floater position. I spent a few years learning and relearning as many positions as I could before moving to inspection, then certifications. I'm now the Wavefront clerk, a new position tasked with building and maintaining the new inventory system in the lab.

     I'm fairly new to the shop steward position, but I have a deep well of experienced resources that I can draw on. I look forward to building my skills and using them to help all of my union family.
