No new applications and one withdrawl for the May meeting, giving us 229 members in good standing with three non-members: Justin Derezinski, Mark Brandt, and Josiah Brandt. We voted that for union business, lost time during the workday for 12-hour workers will make the 12 hours whole, and 8-hour workers will make the 8 hours whole. For union time spent on days off, pay will be for hours spent on the event. Voted to donate $1,000 to the Rapids Redhawks. Voted to donate $1,000 to The Best Christmas Ever.

E-Board Monthly Meeting Notes 5.28.24

-Vincent Press is out in the Wash Presses, making for more endloader traffic to empty knot bunker and more time for wash press helper to move knots in bunker. Its fixed now

-Woodroom crane needs some repairs-broken windows and stairs missing, etc. new fueling steps are on, windows are still duct taped.

-call time for training opportunities

-updated wages were posted

-discussion on Domtar’s proposed 4on-4off guidelines

-need to make sure we are hanging up vacation relief signups, so that way we make sure we did our part right. First step will be a move-up in the department, second will be the sheet.

Treasurer’s Report

A detailed list of incomes and expenses were read, leaving an ending balance of 41,981.05 and savings of $177,007.38. Gustin motion to accept as read, Janicki second. Motion carried.

Old Business

-Vote on Donating $1,000 to Rapids Redhawks. Gives us two years of sponsorship. Plates on the field. Advertisements of Sponsors. Janicki motion to donate $1000 to Rapids Redhawks. Carlson second. Motion carried.

-Vote on Donating $1,000 to Best Christmas Ever. Trustee Beckman motion to donate $1000 to Best Christmas Ever. Carlson Second. Motion carried.

-Discussion on OT in the wood yard. Does the OT accrue after 40 hours for the work week? Matt Kundinger called Scott Morrison. Days off should be OT, over 8 hours should be OT, holidays count toward the 40 hours now too. Vice-President Vitello will clarify with Scott Morrison.

-have a discussion on how mill is utilizing staff for relief. PMS does not relieve rewinders (different departments), but is having an employee from PMS train to relieve rewinder. How will a 12-hour worker relieve an 8-hour work week. They wanted to pull the rewinder into PMS, but it is a day job. Is rewinder part of shipping? Why can’t they build up the rewinder department. Potential for a second person working in tandem during the day shift. Would definitely be safer. Issues with scheduling if a 12-hour worker relieves an 8-hour worker.

New Business

-Quilts of Valor joint fundraiser with WOS and VOS. Any ideas? Material Girls. Think on what we would like to do and bring it to the board.

-4on-4off guidelines discussion

-vacation relief forms should be filled out for all time off to cover us. Finding the reliefs should be the scheduler’s job.

-Kelly never got the guidelines packet to hand out.

-what happens about moving two jobs up

-new punch in rounding will go by every 5 minutes. Won’t be able to punch in until 5-to instead of 15 to

-need to make sure non-12s departments get info they need for timeclock stuff

-nephew in law, waiting to see how Jberg’s turns out.

-possibly grieve entire 4x4 guidelines packet. Need to ask Sally

-possibly use park next to wetlap warehouse to do an union appreciation cookout
