Call to Order
President Czappa called the meeting to order at 7pm. 8 members were present.

Reading of the Minutes
President Czappa called the meeting to order at 7pm at the Union Hall. Treasurer Bray read through the Treasurer’s Report and we voted to accept the minutes as read. We had 231 members in good standing. We had voted to purchase the Veterans Day tshirts and gift certificates. Hero’s Café serves veterans, and is a great place to volunteer. Rhodes has resigned from the mill.
Motion to accept minutes as read Bodette, Kelnhofer second. Motion carried.
Communications and Bills
-Quarterly WOS-still needs to go to eboard
-Same DJ has been scheduled for the holiday party. Waiting for contract
Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer Bray read through a thorough list of incomes and expenses, leaving us with a cash balance of $23,904.17 and savings of $138,738.38
Motion to accept report as read Bodette, Janicki second. Motion carried.
Initiation of New Members
We have 231 members in good standing. No new applications. Still struggling to retain new hires.
Tory Kauth has submitted a letter to withdraw from union.
Reports of Special Committees
Bargaining Committee:
3pm meetings aren’t the easiest for members to be available for
-potential to ask for money towards personal phones to use them at work. No work phones worked during/after power outage
Grievance Committee:
Veterans of Steel:
Shirts from Cedarstream arrived
-volunteered at crossroads church to serve at Veteran’s Café. 6a-9a. Twice a month on Wednesdays.
Women of Steel:
Quarterly Meeting was August 12. Next date is Nov 18.
Next Gen:
Eboard:
-Brian Nelson’s retirement went lackluster. No email, or card given. He did have a cake…
-Donation request from RSPA. Eboard recommendation to donate $250. Bodette motion, Lieber second. Motion carried.
-new hire orientation is very much lacking. People don’t know where to go on their first day, don’t get lockers, don’t know where they will be for their job. Nothing. Plus, we feed management (auditors) but not new hires.
-possibility to ask for paying by the minute during negotiations
-safety incident with service crew driving too fast
Unfinished Business:
-Save the date District 7 Conference Sept 23-25 2026 at the Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City, IN. Bodette motion to send 3 to district 7 conference. Voss second. Motion carried.
New business
-annual outage has now been shortened to 5 days.
-Annual Outage 20-25
-had PSM audit
-Bodette-accountability log. People are not being notified when they are being documented.
-need to ask for camera placement map
-there is a new hire on N2 that may need some extra help.
