Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes 8.6.25
Call to Order
President Czappa called the meeting to order at 7:06 at the Local Union Hall. 11 members were present.

Reading of the Minutes
Our last meeting was July 2, 2025.
We discussed the Eboard recommendation to send both Czappa and Vitello to the Domtar Council Meeting, the Eboard recommendation to send up to 3 to Next Gen August 4, the Eboard recommendation to send up to 6 to WOS August 13, and the Eboard voted to spend up to $100 to feed new hires on our day with them during their orientation.
We had a total of 232 members in good standing, with 4 non-members Justin Derezinski, Josiah Brandt, John Krause, and Peggy Dreslinger.

Treasurer’s Report
A detailed list of incomes and expenses were read, leaving a cash balance of 25,977.98 and savings of $150,215.51.
Janicki motion to accept report as read, Beckman second. Motion carried.
Initiation of New Members
Applications for Membership: Ken Xiong, Adrian Cholaku, Jay Newby, Victor Boldon, John Charette Jr, Blake Kellerman, and Zackery Kautz.
Bray motion to waive membership fees for new membership applications, Lieber second. Motion carried
Monthly membership is at 232 members, with four non-members Peggy Drislinger, Justin Derezinski, Josiah Brandt, and John Krause.

- Grievance Committee (stewards):
-a member was missing for a call for OT, will be getting paid for that.
-going to second step for a discharge grievance

- Next Gen
-Dave and Lexi went to the August 4 meeting. Was an informational get together to see what the members want from the group. Meetings going forward will be more informative. Looking to see how to get it off the ground.
- Women of Steel:
Quarterly Meeting coming up August 13 at Lucky Dogz-remember to bring your taco stuff
- Eboard:
- Eboard recommendation to donate $500 to the Humane Society for the surgical suite at the shelter.
- Conversation around job refreshing
- Scheduling issues in recaust/recovery
- Safety of new stand behind secondary knotter
- Voted to feed new hires at August new hire orientation.
Unfinished Business
New Business
-Surgical Suite $500 donation to Humane Society vote. Janicki motion to donate $500 to south wood county humane society surgical suite. Voss second, motion carried.
-New hire group is promising
-Tshirt idea, 19.99-24.00 each depending on size for solidarity days. Janicki motion to purchase tshirts for the union body. Brandl second. Motion carried.
-not expecting a new-hire group until October after the outage
-will be sending out a survey for schedule questions. Will be going to work email.
-Bill Edwards will be in on the 19-20th, coming to break ground on the dam in Rothschild.
-ideas to have the training advocates actually get to work on training
-process owners that don’t know their process
