Local 9460 Officer Nominations & Elections

This year all of the officers of our Executive Board are up for election, from local president to unit chairs.  The elections will be held this Spring.  To run for office you have to be a member of the local union in good standing, and be nominated for a position.  You can either nominate yourself, or nominate someone that you think would be a good candidate (but check with them first to make sure they want to run!).  The link below contains a list of all of the positions you can run for, as well as a nomination form that you can print out and mail in.  Everyone who is nominated by 5pm on March 22 will be put on the ballot, which will be mailed out this April. 

Red Book Meeting & Contract Vote

There will be a Red Book Unit Meeting this Tuesday (Feb. 27) to discuss the tentative agreement. We'll be meeting at 5:30pm in the basement of the Duluth Labor Temple. The easiest way to get to basement is through the door of the building facing Lake Superior. If you're driving, you can park on any side of the building. If you're taking the bus, you can take either the 101 or the 103. Get off at the Superior St. and 18th Ave. E stop and walk down to London Road.

Tentative Agreement Reached for Grand Rapids

The union and Essentia Health reached a tentative agreement today for the Grand Rapids Hospice contract. The tentative agreement, and the ballot on whether or not to ratify it, have been emailed out to everyone in the Unit. Please vote by this Tuesday!

Tentative Agreement Reached for the Red Book Contract!

We have reached a tentative agreement with Essentia Health on the Red Book contract.  We're waiting for some final documentation from the company.  Once we get that we'll be putting together information to share with everyone.  Stay tuned for more info on the agreement and a ratification vote.

2024 Local 9460 College Scholarships

Local 9460's College Scholarships for 2024 are out! If you have a kid, step-kid or legal ward that will be going to college this year, they are eligible to apply. We have multiples scholarships of $500-$1000 for students would will be attending community/technical college or university (undergrad or grad level), either full or part-time. Jan 30 St. Luke's Update

ST. LUKE'S UPDATE: Unfortunately when the company paid out the back pay for our current contract, they gave everyone double what they were supposed to. Now they are requiring everyone to pay back that extra money (we checked, and yes, unfortunately, they can legally do that). They are asking everyone to either pay it back in one lump sum, or pay it back over a period of 4 paychecks. We have just got confirmation that if 4 paychecks is not enough time, and would put you into a financial crisis, you can get an extension. Just reach out to HR and explain your situation.
