My name is Heidi Young and I have been the Unit Chairperson for USW Local 2155-7 since April of 2021.

     I have worked with the company now called “Howmet Aerospace” since June of 2016. I started as a production laborer in the Bar Finish department where I operated band saws and lathes. I worked in that department for 2 years before bidding to our amalgamated clerical and technical union.

     My first bid job into The C&T union was a material applicator position where I learned the process of taking a titanium ingot and making it into finished product. After one year in that bid, I took another bid to a position where I schedule work for a billet forging machine among other duties. I am currently in this position and have been for a little over 3 years.

     I also belong to our Woman of Steel committee and our Recreational Activities committee. I am a big supporter of unions and am proud to belong to one!
