On November 23, 2022 we met with the gentlemen from Chapter 13 of Disabled American Veterans.  They are the recipient of the funds raised through our annual golf tournament. This years tournament allowed us to donate $2910.40 to their chapter which will allow them to fund resources for the Veterans in our local area!  They were amazed at the thoughfulness of the donation and the sheer size of our hall!

We would like to congratulate one of our Trustees Joey and his wife on their new bundle of joy!  Thank you to our Financial Secretary Shelly for her great idea of having a surprise Baby Shower for them in between monthly membership meetings!

USW Local 1000 hosted a Kids Halloween Dance that was open to our members and the community.  The kids had a blast snacking on goodies and dancing!  They got a huge kick out of our local's pet snake "Beetlejuice" who came out and said Hi with our local president Shane MaGill.

We held our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament to benefit Disabled American Veterans on August 13, 2022. It was a huge success!  Your support has allowed us to donate approximately $3000 to our local chapter of D.A.V.  This charity organization helps our local disabled veterans with services that they need, so the Veterans Committee of Local 1000, and our community want to extend our sincere thanks for your support.

The tournament winner was the team that was captained by Blaze Peterson. Each member of the team earned a $150 visa gift card that was donated by Karl Ehemann of Corning Inc.

Laura Jones was asked to be part of an exhibit that was in the Rockwell Museum until December 31, 2021. Laura was very proud of this honor and to be photographed and featured by Christopher Walters, a local photographer. We reached out to Christopher who with Laura's husband Greg's permission agreed to donate Laura's framed photo from the Rockwell to the USW Local 1000 Union Hall to be on display in her memory. On Friday Christopher Walters brought Laura's photo to our local, where her husband Greg joined us as we hung it to be displayed where it was photographed.
