AFL-CIO Leadership Action Update for October 27, 2016

President Trumka in Pennsylvania for Labor 2016

AFL-CIO President Richard L. Trumka (UMWA) travelled across Pennsylvania and joined local union leaders for Labor 2016 efforts, including phone banks and door knocking. While in Philadelphia, President Trumka met with local African American community leaders and visited the ShopRite worksite.

Indiana State AFL-CIO Hosts Statewide Day of Action

The Indiana State AFL-CIO, led by President Brett Voorhies (USW), held a statewide day of action in 10 different counties with get-out-the-vote canvasses and phone banks to educate Hoosiers about this year's issues and union-backed candidates.

Nevada State AFL-CIO Builds Taco Truck Wall Around Trump

The Nevada State AFL-CIO, led by Executive Secretary-Treasurer Danny L. Thompson (USW), joined Culinary Union and local organizations for a rally against Donald Trump. Local union members and organizers built a wall around Trump’s Las Vegas hotel, with 40 taco trucks registering Nevadans to vote.
