We’re Rebuilding Rapid Response and Need Your Help!

Will we pass more job-killing trade deals?   What will happen to my future Social Security and Medicare benefits?  Will cuts in spending impact safety on the job?

Whether it is Washington, D.C., or here in Iowa, these are the government decisions that are made every day on our behalf.  The outcomes impact our industry and our working lives in ways that can help – or hurt – us.

Our state was once very active in Rapid Response, leading the way in defending our members’ interests in Washington.  But, as time passed, we got less active.  That’s why we’re now committing to rebuild our Rapid Response network.

Through the United Steelworkers’ Rapid Response program, we get educated on the issues, find out how we can make a difference and influence the legislative process.  It is a program unlike any other.  It is the way we build power for our interests at all levels of government.

Help our local get back to the top in Rapid Response activity and make sure we have a say in the decisions impacting our working lives!
