From your Bargaining Committee #2 June 6, 2019
Good day Brothers, Sisters and Union Family! We the bargaining committee, have begun the process of tabulating the surveys you have sent us. You should have received one in the mail by now and can drop it off at the boxes in the plant or the Hall. Anyone who has not received a survey can drop by the hall to pick one up or arrange one with your Worker Safety Representative.
The departmental meetings will be held at the union Hall as follows:
Maintenance Department - June 11th -8:00am and 7:00pm.
Mines Department - June 12th- 4:30pm and 7:00 pm.
Surface and Miscellaneous - June 13th 8:00am and 7:00pm.
You are welcome to attend any meeting that meets your scheduling needs!
It is our intention to step up the process of bargaining with the Company and look to possibly ratify an agreement before Vacation Shutdown. Although there are many issues we will be facing at the table we intend to get the best deal possible for you the members.
We hope to see you at the departmental meetings next week to clarify any of your concerns as we develop your issues before we meet the company in the following weeks.
We have a group text system that you can speak to your Worker Safety Representative to sign up so you can get any information we need you to have.
Please work with the Communication Action Team who will be getting information out to you during negotiations to keep you up to date on where we are. We will be working on non-monetary items first and will likely move into monetary later in the bargaining process. During this time we want everyone to please keep your minds on working safely at work and at home. There will likely be a lot of distractions at this time and we want to ensure that everyone to goes home safely to their families. We hope to be successful at the table as we have in the past and want to once again thank everyone!
