Good day Brothers and Sisters,
Your Bargaining Committee has been working to achieve a contract for you since June with the intention of having something to bring to you in a timely manner. Our goal has always been and will continue to focus on navigating negotiations with integrity and respect.
The Union believes that the parties are close to achieving something to bring to the membership. To date the parties have not reached a final offer, however Vale believes the parties may be approaching an impasse.
Our membership has come too far in working with all the challenges we faced in our workplace recently and your bargaining committee is dedicated to reducing further challenges. We know there is a future here that is sustainable, benefiting our members, the company and the community, in a responsible manner.
The Bargaining committees intend on taking some time to evaluate the current situation and what possibilities lay ahead as we move forward towards our contract expiration date.
