The Consumer Price Index for October 2019 was 136.6. The Consumer Price Index for January 2020 was 136.8. Therefore, the Cost of Living Allowance generated would be an increase of 3 cents.

As a result, effective March 1, 2020 (paid April 1, 2020 for salaried), the total C.O.L.A. payable will be $.13 per hour.

    Anthem BCBS and Parkview

As most of you are hearing from the news Anthem and Parkview Health is having contractual issues and may not be renewing their contracts. In doing so Parkview could become an out of network provider for those members.  I spoke with Paula (Sorry I did not get her last name) Escalation Specialist with BCBS of South Carolina which our Health Insurance is through. Paula assured me that this specifically targets Anthem of Indiana and this is normal and nothing to be concerned about, even for Anthem of Indiana Members. Paula did state that she reached out to the BCBS SC marketing group and informed them if things would change and affect us that the Continental Group would be contacted of any changes.

We will keep any updates posted.
