Town Hall details: Feb.18th at 3:30 pm and 6:30 pm @ 1408 N. Washington Ave. Dallas, TX. 75204.
-As most have seen, the hoists at the moto blocks are good to go and running. Station 6/7 is also released. Waiting on the status of the hoists in oil temper and straight and cut.
-Business is a bit slow so it’s that time where we are watched very closely!!! Be smart!!
-The company has given the union a warning on relief and shift changes! This past Tuesday two people decided to leave the job early, change into their street clothes and move their cars from the employee parking to the front entrance at about 2:45. All of managements windows are at the front of the building, if you didn’t know? It was also mentioned the amount of employees at the picnic tables and punch clock at about 2:45. Please be cautious of this and relieve on the job as they will start progressive discipline. Along with this, management informed me of how it works at the ArcelorMittal St Patrick’s plant, the fob clocks are in the middle of the plant!!
-The smoking policy is being strictly enforced so be aware!!
-When doing a shift, both people must sign and you must have a supervisor sign as well. That way there should not be a pay issue.
-Our next union meeting is Thursday February 13 at 5:00 PM.
-Retiree indexing cheques will be mailed on February 18.

***UPDATE*** BOTH OF THESE CONFERENCES HAVE BEEN POSTPONED INDEFINETELY.
This year the United Steelworkers will be holding their International Convention in Las Vegas from August 2-5. In preparation for that convention, there will be a Women of Steel conference from April 24-25 and a District 11 conference from April 26-29.
