Last week I reported on the Christmas shutdown dates. The company has made a change this past Tuesday. One more shift for all. They will be shutting down 7:00 am on Dec 24 for 12 hour people and 11:00pm on dec 23 for 8 hour people. 8 hours return at 11:00 Pm on Jan 1 and continuous, 12 hours start back at 7:00 am on January 2.

2020 VACATIONS
Shutdowns are set for 2020. Weeks of July 5 and 12 and Christmas 2020 we will shutdown on Dec 23 at 11:00 pm for 8 hour people and December 24 at 7:00 am for 12 hours. Returning 11:00 pm on Jan 1, 2021 for 8 hours and 7:00 am on Jan 2, 2021 for 12 hours.
Those with less than 5 years service may be required to work one week of the summer shutdown on utilities or confined space.
Those with 5 years of service or more will be booked 80 hours for 8 hour people or 84 hours for 12 hour people during the July shutdown and 40 hours for 8’s and 36 hours for all 12’s at the Christmas shutdown. The company is shutting down for Christmas for the week.
BONUS
For those who qualify, there will be a $200 bonus for November.
PAY ISSUES
One major problem has been shift changes. If you are doing a shift change, you must have both sign it as well as a supervisor. This will put the onus on the supervisor and they are instructed to verify all shift changes and are accountable.
I would encourage all to check the “Fiore” app for our pays weekly to make sure your hours are correct. On the tab, “My Time sheet” is your hours and a description of every day of the pay period.
If you were TT’d to another job that pays a higher job class, make sure you notify, remind, the supervisor, the next day or so check the “My Time sheet” tab to see what was entered. If there is an error, notify a supervisor or HR immediately.

Even though your Collective Agreement expired on November 30, 2019, the terms and conditions of that agreement remain in full effect until a new Collective Agreement is ratified by the membership.
The Bargaining Committee has scheduled dates with Stratcom to commence bargaining on February 10-13, 2020.
*2019 Negotiations Start up again on Sept. 23rd and 24th. Two more days went by. Company requested a mediator to help us along. It did seem to get us moving a little bit more. We have more dates set in October. The 9th,10th,11th, 21st-23th. Maybe we can close the deal. We are currently working under an extended contract.*
