We are in the last week of contract negotiations and it is not unusual to be anxious about how things are going and what the future holds. We are intent on getting a reasonable offer from the Company to present to you later this week. Given it has been 5 years from our last contract ratification we want to cover some important items with you.
The final offer will be disclosed at 2 meetings later this week. We will advertise to all via signs at the gate, radio, our reverse texting service and bulletins about presenting the final offer from the Company. Voting will then be held at the Union Hall from 8.00am and 8.00pm until polls close on Sunday September 15, 2019.
Remote voting will be available through email and text for those who are unable to make it to the Hall. Please contact the Union Hall during regular business hours to set up this service, 204-677-1700.
The votes will be tallied and once the outcome is determined we will broadcast the results via radio, bulletins, signs and our reverse texting service.
We know this can be a difficult time as we close in on a deal with the Company but there are some things to keep in mind. It is important to use and participate in social media responsibly as it can be detrimental to the Company’s Policy and you the members.
Be prudent about what you leave on the plant site prior completion of the 2014-2019 collective bargaining agreement. Make arrangements with your Supervisor to remove your items or identify your belongings to be removed at a later date.
