 Good day Brothers and Sisters,

Your Bargaining Committee would like to thank you for the support you have given us. The high turnout and 99.6% result in favour of the strike mandate vote has given your bargaining committee perhaps the strongest position ever at the bargaining table. This result has clearly shows our collective solidarity and our resolve to get a fair contract. Your bargaining committee hears your mandate and is committed in getting you a collective agreement.

There has been lots of discussion around the options in the event of an early deal so close to the scheduled vacation shutdown.  Options are being discussed for remote voting such as email, texting and calling in to the union hall. Once finalized this will be rolled out to the members in a separate CAT release. However, as you are well aware our contract does not expire until Sept 15, 2019. The bargaining committee is under no obligation to conclude negotiations prior to Sept 15,2019. We will keep you informed along the way.
