On behalf of Nick Larochelle and your Local 6500 Executive Board, the Labour Day Committee would like to let you know that Labour Day is coming upon us, the planning has started and we are looking to make a huge impact at this year’s event on September 2nd at Bell Park.
We have been working with the Sudbury and District Labour Council to help plan this year’s event. The theme for the event, given to us by the CLC, is “Fairness for Everyone”. We will be setting up our tent/booth for all of our members to stop and visit and to get some swag for the whole family. Also, we would like to see as many members and their families as we can get to march with us in the Solidarity March.
We are also promoting First Aid for the family this year by offering a first aid course to those who come to the Labour Day festivities and visit the Local 6500 booth. Members and their families can sign up for a First Aid course put on by your Local. We are looking for adults, young adults and teenagers to attend. Those who pass the course, which will be held at a later date, will receive a first aid kit
Also, if there are any members with kids in high school, or going into high school, college or university that need volunteer hours, please contact me with your information. We are looking for as many volunteers as possible to help out at the booth and with other various activities during the day, either for Local 6500 or the Sudbury & District Labour Council.
We would love to see you all there to show support and solidarity for your Union and your Community.
