We are the United Steelworkers, North America’s largest industrial union. We’re 1.2 million members and retirees strong in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. We proudly represent men and women who work in nearly every industry there is.
It is with great sadness that we must inform you of the passing of our sister and colleague, Amie Maddalone, who lost a difficult battle with cancer last weekend.
Amie has been a loyal member of USW Local 9360 since 1995. Prior to become ill, she was also active in the Women of Steel.
Amie and other members of USW Local 9360 WOS at the Bags of Hope drive held at MWRA last year.
Having spent over 10 years in various positions on Deer Island, she was promoted to an IT Project Manager III in Chelsea in 2013. In any ways, Amie was a jack-of-all-trades who was always willing to step forward to help out. She was a very organized person who played a key role in most of the important IT projects. She was well liked - loved in many cases - and respected.
Amie will be missed greatly by her brothers and sisters at USW Local 9360.
Amie's funeral will be held this morning in Winthrop.
