Le Syndicat des Métallos procède à des élections pour les postes de son Bureau exécutif international. Dans le cadre du déroulement des élections, votre Section locale utilisera le vote électronique à distance pour nominer des candidats aux postes suivants : Président international, Secrétaire-trésorier international, Vice-président international (Administration), Vice-président international (Relations humaines), Directeur national pour le Canada, Vice-président international hors-cadre, Vice-président international, et Directeurs des Districts 3, 5 et 6 du Syndicat des Métallos.
Le Manuel des élections du Syndicat international stipule qu’un candidat ne peut être élu dans la procédure de nomination d’une Section locale que si le nom de ce candidat a été soumis au préalable et par écrit au Secrétaire-trésorier de la Section locale par un membre de la Section locale. La soumission doit être signée et indiquer le poste pour lequel le nom du candidat est soumis. Une fois qu’un nom est soumis, la candidature de celui-ci comme candidat de la Section locale ne peut être retirée que par le candidat.
Si vous souhaitez soumettre le nom d’un candidat pour les postes mentionnés, celui-ci doit être reçu en version papier, par courrier postal ou courrier déposé, à l’adresse indiquée ci-dessous, et avant la date et heure indiquées ci-dessous :

The United Steelworkers is conducting an election for the positions of the International Executive Board. As part of the election process your Local Union will use remote electronic voting to nominate candidates for International President, International Secretary-Treasurer, International Vice President (Administration), International Vice President (Human Affairs), Canadian National Director, International Vice President at Large, International Vice President and Directors of USW Districts 3, 5 and 6.
The International Union Elections Manual provides that no candidate may be voted upon in a Local’s nomination process unless the name of that candidate has been submitted in writing by a member of the Local Union to the Local’s Secretary-Treasurer in advance. The submission must be signed, and indicate the office for which the candidate’s name is being submitted. Once a name is submitted, the name cannot be withdrawn for candidacy as the Local’s nominee except by the candidate.
If you wish to submit the name of a candidate for consideration for the identified positions, it must be received in hard copy, by postal mail or dropped off, at the address indicated below, and by the date/time listed below:

Deadline: 4:30 pm Pacific Time, Friday, August 6th, 2021.
After the submissions have been received, the Local Union will use a remote electronic voting process to enable each member to vote to nominate the candidate(s) of their choice.

Overview:

Join us at the Union Hall for the first ever Virtual National Paper Bargaining Conference for Local Unions and Staff Representatives over the dates of July 20th through 22nd. This is the Conference where we set forth our bargaining agenda and build our work plan for the next two years. Our theme for this year’s conference is “Nothing Can Stop Us” because, despite the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic presented over the past year, our local leaders and staff never stopped working to serve the membership, building solidarity, adapting to limitations brought on by the pandemic, and overcoming countless other situations.
