About this course: This 3-day course was created specifically for Local 1944’s unique needs through the cooperative work of USW Local 1944 and the USW Canadian National Office. It focuses on the steward’s role as educator and advocate, as well as concentrating on the grievance procedure. Participants will be provided with a manual and an information binder, designed to be utilized as a reference manual to assist them with a variety of workplace issues.
Who can attend: The course is open to all members in good standing who are, or wish to become, shop stewards, or are curious about whether the role of steward would suit them. Members who have taken a previous Shop Steward Level 1 course can also register.
