Why is the Union important to Amanda:
The Union is important to me because I know they have the best interest at heart and I know they will fight for all members!
Bio:
Amanda is originally from Alliance, Oh but now currently resides in Cuyahoga Falls, Oh. She has an associates degree in Early Childhood Education Intervention Specialist from Stark State College and graduated with honors. Amanda previously worked as a Radiology Transcriptionist and an Emergency Room Registrar before beginning her employment as a Case Manager at Stark County Job and Family Services Child Support Division in December 2014. Currently, she is a New Directions Case Manager under the PJAC Grant. Amanda volunteered to be the head teller for the 2021 Local Election and from there she decided she wanted to be more active in our Union. In addition to serving as our Local Union Recording Secretary, Amanda is also part of CAT and WOS.
Amanda has been married to her husband, Joe, since 2018. She loves spending time with her loud Italian family, friends, and her two cats, Mabel and Scrubby. Amanda also enjoys reading, listening to music, traveling, cooking/baking, and Broadway musicals.
Jacqui has been employed at JFS since December 2012, starting at Human Services, then transferring to Child Support in 2015. She became active in the Union, starting out as Guide, then shortly after, Recording Secretary position in 2018 and now Treasurer. She was one of the first members of CAT, is the co-chair of New Hire and Mentoring (which includes the Organizing Committee) and is involved in Women of Steel.
Jacqui grew up in Stark County, and has spent much of her life living in the area. She has been married to her husband Bradd since 2015, who she is also in a band with, and loves to sing and play the ukulele. She also has a son Daniel who was born in 2018. Jacqui is passionate about human and civil rights, and supports activism, marching in parades and participating in charity events. She is an elder in her affirming church, an ordained minister and advocates for equity and equality.

Andrew grew up in a Union home, his father was employed by the Timken Company and was a member of USW 1123. Andrew is a 2006 graduate of Minerva High School and is currently taking classes at Eastern Gateway Community College using the USW’s Free College Benefit Program. He began his employment at Stark County Job and Family Services in 2015 as a Unit Support Worker II in the Human Services Division. Andrew first became active in our Local when he was elected to the position of guard in 2016 and he was also our locals 1st CAT coordinator when it was initiated during our 2017 contract negations.

Andrew is also an Eagle scout and has received Awards from the Buckeye Council Boy Scouts of America for Outstanding District Service and was the recipient of the 2009 Rising Star Award.

Carla was originally from Canton, OH but now currently lives in Carrollton, OH. She has an associates degree in Paralegal Studies from Stark State College and graduated with distinction. Carla previously worked for a private attorneys office before beginning her employment as a Case Manager at Stark County Job and Family Services Child Support Division in July 2014. Currently, she is a Case Manager who reviews the medical coverage on cases. Carla was invited to and attended the NextGen Conference held in Pittsburgh, PA in November 2019. With that great experience, this boosted Carla’s interest in the solidarity of the Union which made her decision easy to accept her nomination for the Financial Secretary. In addition to serving as our Local Union Financial Secretary, Carla is also part of the CAT Team. Carla has been married to her high school sweetheart, Josh, since June 2015. Carla has two dogs, Winnie and Cooper, who she considers her babies. Carla ventured into a side business in 2019, KylieBTees, where creates personalized T-shirts and custom creations in memory of her infant daughter Kylie. Carla spends a majority of her spare time with her family and is an avid event planner and host.
