Question :
Question :
D'accord – 22 %
Ni d’accord ni en désaccord – 20 %
En désaccord – 15 %
Fortement en désaccord – 11 %
Question :
For the past few months, Local 1944 members employed at Telus have been responding to our RealityCheck survey, which seeks to verify whether Telus’ high engagement scores are the result of a positive workplace, or management pressure.
When the survey closed April 30th, 1326 responses had been received, however, 119 of these were spoiled either because the member submitted their survey more than once, or because a survey could not be attributed to a current member of Local 1944.
There remained 1207 countable survey submissions. That is about 20% of Local 1944’s Telus-employed members presently working.
Here are some highlights of what you had to say:
Question:
“I have been guided by ‘Management or others’ on what the ‘correct answers’ are to questions on my company engagement survey”
Responses:
Strongly Agree – 33%
Agree - 23%
Neither Agree Nor Disagree – 16%
Disagree – 16%
Strongly Disagree – 11%
(sum is not 100% due to rounding)
Question:
“It has been suggested to me, or to my work group, that there would be negative consequences for poor company engagement scores.”
Responses:
Strongly Agree – 32%
Agree - 22%
Neither Agree Nor Disagree – 20%
Disagree – 15%
Strongly Disagree – 11%
Question:
“When answering the company engagement survey, my answers are a reflection of what the company wants to hear, not what I truly feel.”
Responses:
Strongly Agree – 32%
Agree - 21%
Neither Agree Nor Disagree – 16%
Disagree – 19%
Strongly Disagree – 12%
These results demonstrate that a very large amount of management pressurization and manipulation is going on with regard to PulseCheck, artificially inflating scores.
It is hypocritical that the very behaviours that most characterize a negative employer, excessive pressurization and threats to employees, are being used to get employees to claim that Telus is a positive employer on their PulseCheck. Shame.
Here are some more results:
Question:
Given the opportunity, I tell others great things about working here.
Responses:
Strongly Agree – 15%
Agree – 36%
Neither Agree Nor Disagree – 25%
Disagree – 17%
Strongly Disagree – 8%
Question:
I would recommend my employer to a friend seeking employment.
We are fielding a lot of inquiries about the Strike Assistance. We are in the process of collecting and uploading your information. The 1 penny "trial" deposit has NOToccurred yet. When it does, we will send out a mass text.
Strike Assistance Pay will be as follows...
A deposit will be made on June 25th
Beginning July 9th and every two weeks after that deposits will be made to coincide with our regular pay schedule.
Green Book Update: Negotiations resumed for the Green Book today. Unfortunately, the company continues to push for removing portions of our detailed benefit language and replacing it with non-contract policies. This isn't something we are interested in accepting. To move things along, both parties agreed to move all "open" non-economic proposals to economics. We presented our economics proposals this afternoon and the company expects to have a full response for us at the next session on June 9. Given how slow the progress has been, we are asking for you, the members, so show your support for the Negotiating Committee by wearing a union sticker on June 9 - the next day we meet with the company. Our Workers Information Network (WIN Team) is distributing the stickers. Let us know if you'd like to join the WIN Team and/or if you need stickers for you and your co-workers.
