My name is Bertha Velasquez. My hometown is San Bernardino. My nickname is Grandma Gen, given to me by the Next Gen. I work at Palmetto Elementary as a Special Education Teacher's Aide. I've worked for Fontana Unified School District for 32 years. I enjoy seeing my students grow & being able to design creative bulletin boards. I can't live without good food, good family & friends, and good times. My special interest is being involved in Women of Steel. If I could be any animal I'd want to be a hummingbird because they're cute, fast and you can't catch them. My favorite quote is "It's All About Me." My favorite books are I'll Love You Forever & The Kissing Hand. My dream vacation would be Hawaii. I would like to have my own moon city and I would call it Mushi Mushi because you can do whatever you want. My favorite food is every taco truck on Highland or Sundowners.
My name is Patty Newton. My hometown is Rialto, CA. I always go by my nickname Patty. I work for Fontana High School, Fohi, as a Senior Secretary for 16 years. My favorite part of working at the school is my interactions with the students. I enjoy seeing them grow up and become successful adults. I can’t live without my family they are my life. I enjoy baking and decorating cakes when I have time. I have been the Recording Secretary for the union for a very long time. I've enjoyed being part of the Negotiating Team, Scholarship Committee, Bylaws Committee, and Picnic Committee. I have a good size collection of little pig figurines that were given to me.
My name is Richard Romo. I was born in Fontana, CA at Kaiser Hospital in 1977, on Father's Day.I am married to my teenage love, Natacha Romo. We have a beautiful daughter, Christina, who's my heart, and son, Richard, Jr. who's my strength.I've been employed with the Fontana Unified School District for 21 years. I'm a Senior Custodian. I also play another role in our District. I'm honored to be Vice President and Chief Steward of United Steelworkers Local 8599, representing the Classified & Hourly Employees of the Fontana Unified School District.
