We know opening our contract for the first time in 16 years is important and our members showed they are united. Members stepped up and responded to our bargaining survey and this helped us shape our local bargaining priorities. Some major issues we plan to address in our local contract are:
Compensation, wages and premium pay
Shifts/ Scheduling
Seniority
Language Updates
Opportunities for Growth
But we need you to win the best contract! Details to come about how you can join our Social Media Takeover on 5/13 to show KP we are united for the Best Jobs for the Best Care. Hear directly from the bargaining committee about our first day of negotiations by registering for our Local Bargaining Town Hall on May 13 at 6pm by clicking HERE: http://usw7600.ink/NP

Our local bargaining committee this week continued its work on effects bargaining. As you should already know, we gave the company our proposal in late March, and on April 22, we received a response. Late last week, we met with the company by video so we could discuss this response.
This week, our local bargaining committee met with representatives from the International to formulate a counter-proposal. We will be scheduling a meeting with Viatris soon so we can present our counter-proposal to the company.
As we continue with effects bargaining to settle issues like severance, health care, pension benefits and more, it’s important that we act deliberately so that we’re making the most out of this process.
As we have stated before, exchanging proposals and reaching an agreement can take time. We thank you for your patience and will of course let you know as we have more information to share.
