En tant que Présidente par intérim de votre Section locale, je considère que les techniciens qui se rendent au domicile ou dans les entreprises du client pour y effectuer leur travail doivent être inclus dans la liste ci-dessus. On nous répète que notre travail est nécessaire à l’effort de reprise économique, et il est grand temps que le gouvernement cesse de se contenter de paroles creuses et commence à considérer que notre santé et nos vies ont autant d’importance que celles des autres travailleurs de première ligne.

As Acting President of your Local Union, I believe that technicians that enter into customer’s home or businesses to do work ought to be included in the above list. We continue to be told that our work is necessary to the economic recovery effort, well it is high time that governments stop paying lip service and treat our health and our lives as importantly as other frontline workers.

The union Negotiating Committee met with Essentia Health today. We were able to wrap up the initial, non-economics portion of negotiations (stuff relating to contract language clean-up and clarification), and we presented our economic proposals. The company didn’t respond to our economic proposals yet, but we expect that to happen at the next bargaining session on April 27. We’re eager to continue to move forward after such a long delay in negotiations!
