April 13, 2021 - The USW National Women’s Committee recently launched a national survey on “The Impact of the Pandemic on USW Members and Local Union Leaders”.
Answers to the survey will help the Committee understand the impact of the pandemic on Steelworkers and how it has affected paid work, unpaid work within our households, stress levels, mental health, and volunteer activism in our Union, with a final goal of adapting or adding programs to better help Steelworkers.
All members are encouraged to participate, regardless of their level of Union involvement.
Please take the 5-minute online survey to share your experience: https://1944.fyi/lem

April 12, 2021 - USW Local 1944 is pleased to announce that it will be holding its in-person 2021 Local Union Delegated Meeting (LUDM) in December.
Dates: from Tuesday, December 7, to Thursday, December 9, 2021 Location: Coast Coal Harbour Hotel, Vancouver, British Columbia
The LUDM had initially been scheduled for March 16 to 18, 2021, but members of the Executive Board unanimously decided to postpone it due to the ongoing government restrictions on travel and gatherings. Delegates will receive their call letters and travel information closer to the date.
We are looking forward to meeting face-to-face with delegates and honoured guests later this year.
