We are the United Steelworkers, North America’s largest industrial union. We’re 1.2 million members and retirees strong in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. We proudly represent men and women who work in nearly every industry there is.
Because we know that education is at the heart of success and obtaining good jobs, every year, the United Steelworkers distribute 21 scholarships of $1,000 each to qualified secondary students across Canada. These scholarships are intended to support Steelworker members who spend many years saving to allow their children to pursue post-secondary education.

Exciting new changes!

The scholarships shall be awarded to members of the United Steelworkers in good standing, or their children, who are completing high school and starting post-secondary studies this year.

LOCAL UNION ELECTIONS AND MEMBERSHIP MEETING UPDATE
Union Brothers and Sisters,
The following members have been nominated for and accepted office running unopposed. These members will begin their 3 year term in May of this year. The Briggs & Stratton Bargaining Committee positions will go to an election with members in good standing from the Briggs & Stratton Unit being able to vote as described below.
The Exectuive Board is currently looking for a venue that will allow us to hold an in person Membership Meeting so our new officers can be sworn in and for the Local to continue to hold Membership Meetings until our regular location is available based on our needs and safety. Masks will be required at all Union meetings until further notice. The tentative plan is to hold the May Membership Meeting on Sunday May 16.
