January 7, 2021 - As was communicated on December 11, 2020 after the Shaw Bargaining Committee walked away from negotiations, Shaw submitted an application for conciliation to the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services department.
It appears they are not empowered to negotiate a fair and equitable deal. Since Shaw has announced that there will be no wage increases for its 10,000 non-bargaining unit employees, they believe the same should apply to YOU. This is in spite of the MILLIONS handed out to their Executives. Shaw forgets that all the other Unionized employees of Shaw WILL be getting wage increases…and so should YOU! Your Union and Bargaining Committee remains ready to negotiate.
A conciliator has been appointed to us and we have booked dates with them for January 12th and 13th, 2021. We will continue to keep you informed with the truth, all the while fighting for your rights for equality and a fair contract.
We will update you again after this set of meetings.
