We are the United Steelworkers, North America’s largest industrial union. We’re 1.2 million members and retirees strong in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. We proudly represent men and women who work in nearly every industry there is.
Today, USW Local 1944 launches our first Project for United Membership Action (PUMA) Campaign: RealityCheck Survey.
Telus asks for our honest opinion in its PulseCheck surveys, yet the Union consistently receives reports of team members being told there will be negative consequences for the team if PulseCheck scores are low. Added to this is members’ suspicion that the results are not as anonymous as the company says. Our solution: “RealityCheck”, a survey that asks many of the same questions as PulseCheck, but guarantees you the freedom to tell the whole truth about your employer.
The link is below, so we have 3 asks (to be completed on your own time and not company time):
1) Complete the survey.
2) Share the link with coworkers that you have personal contact information for and encourage them to fill it out too.
3) Join PUMA by emailing [email protected] if you’d like to help organize your coworkers’ actions on future campaigns, including during bargaining to get a better Collective Agreement.
Contract negotiations will be starting soon for both the Professional Unit and the Support Staff at the Lake Superior Community Health Center. To help us prepare for the upcoming contract negotiations, you are encouraged to stop by and share what issues, concerns, and priorities YOU would like addressed during this year’s negotiations.
Don’t forget to bring your completed survey if you haven't already mailed it in. We will be holding separate meetings for the Professional Unit and the Support Staff Unit:
