We are the United Steelworkers, North America’s largest industrial union. We’re 1.2 million members and retirees strong in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. We proudly represent men and women who work in nearly every industry there is.
The United Steelworkers is putting on a virtual education conference on Nov. 17 and 18. This is to help make up for all of the conferences and steward trainings that have been cancelled because of the pandemic. If you are a member of Local 9460 who is interested in becoming a steward, or are are interested in any of the other classes they are offering, let us know. If you are working on those days and want to attend, we can put in a time off request for you and cover your lost wages. Here is the link for the classes offered: https://www.usw.org/events/virtual-education-conference

We are going to try to hold a monthly membership meeting while practicing social distancing. The plan is to have folks gather at 5:30pm in Hall A in the basement of the Duluth Labor Temple. If we get too many people we will direct them to other rooms in the Labor Temple and plug them in to the main meeting via video.
Classes are now available to view on the conference website. If there's a particular topic you are interested in, you can filter by Category. You can also filter by date and time of the session. There are also Spanish language workshops available. If you plan to register, contact the Union Hall for our local's conference code, which verifies your membership.
