We are the United Steelworkers, North America’s largest industrial union. We’re 1.2 million members and retirees strong in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. We proudly represent men and women who work in nearly every industry there is.
Workers' Aid is going to be holding a planning meeting on Monday at 6pm to discuss our upcoming Sept. 25 Community Clean-Up event, and brainstorm some other possible upcoming projects for our committee. The meeting will be a video meeting via GoToMeetings. If you're interested in attending, email us at [email protected] and we'll send you an internet link for the meeting.
Workers' Aid is a committee of United Steelworkers Local 9460 that engages in community service, labor solidarity and organizing non-union workers.
St. Luke's Hospital Update: Contract negotiations between the St. Luke's hospital in Duluth and the Steelworkers are going to start at the end of this month. If you'd like to talk to the union before negotiations kick off, we're inviting folks to make an appointment to come down to our office (either individuals or small groups). We are available to meet from 10am into the evening on Sept. 21, 22 and 23, or from 3-5pm on Sept. 24. You'll need to make an appointment though so that we can make sure not to double book and to arrange to let you in to the building (which is locked to the public due to the pandemic).
If you haven't had a chance to drop off your contract survey, you still can during those times, or by mailing them in. Our office is at: USW 9460, 2002 London Road #200, Duluth MN 55812. You can reach us via this facebook page, sending an email to [email protected] or by calling (218) 724-5223.
