Grainger Boot Truck Schedule

Grainger Boot Truck ScheduleBeginning March 1, 2022 all TimkenSteel employees working in or entering one of our manufacturing facilities will be required to wear metatarsal boots. Following a review of best practices across the metals industry, the decision was made to transition the company to metatarsals boots to provide the highest level of foot safety. Since the risk of falling objects hitting the top of a foot is always a consideration, metatarsal boots were determined to be the best option to protect our workforce. To aid in this transition, Grainger has stocked 20 popular styles in the Dueber shoe store.  Follow this link Grainger Page with Footwear Selection Guide to the Grainger page on the SteelNet.  On the Grainger page you will find a Footwear Selection Guide.

Additionally, Grainger will host SHOEMOBILE events at the three Canton steel plants.

Dates and times are:

  • Faircrest Steel Plant – March 1- 5:30am to 4pm
  • Gambrinus Steel Plant – March 2- 5:30am to 4pm
  • Harrison Steel Plant –   March 3-  5:30am to 4pm

Please note that the boot allowance has increased to $170 for standard and high heat boots and $190 for puncture resistant boots. Boot allowances and wear requirements (high heat or puncture resistant boots) are determined by department. Please ask your manager or plant EHS analyst if you are unsure what type boots you are required to wear. We understand that change takes time; therefore, employees will have until September 30 to switch to metatarsal boots.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation, patience, and dedication to keeping our workplace safe.
