Mechanical Repairman Position 

Operating Technician I (LG3)- Mechanical Repairman 

The Company agrees to develop and implement a new Operating Technician I (LG3) - Mechanical Repairman position. This position will be assigned to Field Services and will have a separate position within the Mechanical Maintenance LOP, furthermore this position will be placed in the Plant Maintenance Incentive - Calculation Group 125

The primary functions of this position would be to perform routine and general repetitive field and shop work in inspecting, testing, dismantling, cleaning, repairing and assembling of mechanical equipment. Such work would include but not be limited to

• 

Inspects mechanical equipment for proper operation, making repairs and adjustments as required. Maintains a supply of spare replacement parts. Cleans equipment, checks lubrication and performs other preventive maintenance. Lubricates mechanical equipment. Assists on repair jobs throughout the plant as assigned. Locks out equipment as directed. Procures tools and equipment parts for the field and assigned maintenance crews. Changes various filters as required. Review and interpret drawings, blueprints and sketches in making adjustments and repairs. Fills out various inspection reports and notifies supervision of operating or equipment problems. Cuts, bends and threads pipe, assembles fittings. Performs bench work as required, using wrenches, hand files, chisels, scrapers, hacksaws, hammers, vise, light drill press, and similar tools. May use portable impact gun, wrenches, electric drill, air grinder, air chipping gun or hydraulic press for assembly work

Six (6) vacancies will be filled by utilizing the Core Mechanical Maintenance Knowledge Test (CMMKT). A qualifying score will be established by the Company at the time the vacancy is made available. Where candidates pass with respect to the qualifying score, Employees will be given priority over new hires, and selected based on the provision set forth in Section 13.5.
