Meeting Highlights 4/18/19

Call to Order:  President Shawn Willis called meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.

Roll Call:  Roll call of officers was taken.  All answered except Tyron Rias, Elizabeth Diaz, Martin Sandoval, and Pat Murphy.

Minutes of the Previous Month:  Minutes were read by Dawn Morningstar, and was motioned to be accepted.

Communications:  Read a letter from Toni Marie Blasigame Smith Scholarship.  Joe Taylor made the motion on the executive boards recommendation to sponsor the scholarship for 250.00.

Read letter from National Hook-Up of Black Women Scholarship.  Joe Taylor made the motion on the executive boards recommendation to sponsor the scholarship for 200.00.

Officers Reports:  The Financial Secretary Report for the month of April 2019, was presented by Financial Secretary Don Taylor.  After completion of the reading Don Taylor moved the Financial Secretary Report for April 2019 be accepted as read.

The lost time and expenses report for the month of April 2019 was presented by Financial Secretary Don Taylor.  At the conclusion of the report, Don Taylor moved that the lost time and expenses for April be paid.

The Treasurer's Report for the month of April 2019 was presented by Treasurer Greg Ford.  After completion of the reading Greg Ford moved the Treasurer's report for April 2019 be accepted as read.

Committee Reports:  The Grievance Report was presented by Reggie Chandler.  Reggie reported that 2 members are out.  Rob C.  announced to members at meeting to please get to work on time.  Management is writing people up for being late.

Safety Report was presented by Don Taylor.  Don reported, that the members of ECT did well in the LPA Audit.  We were hit on Tractor and Crane reports.  We also got hit on crane status lights.  Don also announced that contractors are coming in setting traps for pigeons.  Don congratulated members for being safe, and looking out for one another.

Training was presented by Chairman Pete Smith.  Pete announced that the learner's program will start May 13.  2 men that was in training is now trying to be released from learner's program to start their jobs in mill.  Pete also announced that they are in the interviewing process for the 2 MTM/MTE Instructor for training center, and they are also in need of Safety Instructor for Training Center.

Civil Rights:  No report

WOS was presented by President Tamika Malone.  She announced that she will be doing a fundraiser for Breast Cancer.  The fundraiser is called Cosmic Bowling, and it will be held at Plaza in Highland, on May 4, at 4:00 pm.

New Business:  Cliff announced he would like to organize a Plant labor gang to do basic labor around the mill.  This way we keep the mill clean, and we keep the work inhouse to our workers, and we don't contract out work, that we can do ourselves.

President Shawn Willis announced that incentive seems to finally be moving and taking turn for the good.
