Recent News

 The United Steelworkers Local 7-00030 and Lehigh Cement Kicked off bargaining for a new Collective Bargaining Agreement in Pittsburgh, PA. on August 17-18, 2016. Locals from Mitchell, IN. York, PA. Leeds, AL. and Union Bridge, MD. were present to exchange joint proposals with the company. Topics for negotiations at the joint level include; Insurance Plan, Pension Plan, Vacation Benefit, Dues Check-off and Substance Abuse Policy. The parties exchanged proposals asked any clarifying questions and broke off. No future dates have been set for joint negotiations at this time.

 STANDING ON PRINCIPLE

The joint conference of the USW/Lehigh BIG 4 met with the company on
March 8th and 9th in Louisville, KY in the hopes of reaching a tentative
agreement. As you likely know by now—this goal was not achieved—
instead we have an offer the company calls its “Last Best Final Offer”.
We informed Lehigh’s negotiators that each local would vote on this
offer before the end of April.

The United Steelworkers Lehigh Joint Conference, representing Locals 7-00030
(Mitchell, IN), 8-00031 (Union Bridge, MD), 9-108 (Leeds, AL), and 10-00179 (York,
PA), met again on January 25 and January 26, with Lehigh Cement Company representatives, in an effort to close in on a Tentative Agreement between the parties.

 
USW LOCAL 7-0030 CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE

Contract negotiations for a new Collective Bargaining Agreement with Lehigh Hanson began back in August with Local 8-00031 Union Bridge Md., 108 Leeds Al., 10-00179 York Pa. in Pittsburgh Pa.
