Unions and Families Unite to March and Celebrate Labor Day in Detroit
Each year, unions, workers, and families from across the region come together in Detroit to honor the spirit of solidarity and the enduring legacy of the labor movement. The annual Labor Day celebration features a vibrant march, community gatherings, and family-friendly activities—all recognizing the contributions of working people who help build and sustain our communities.
Our Local has marched in every Labor Day Parade since our inception in 1937.
We will once again participate this year. We will meet at the Local at 7:30am and depart (car pool) Downtown at 8:15am. All members and their families are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please let a member of your grievance committee, safety committee or members of the executive board know your intent so that we may have shirts available.
