GA-ACE Union Picket

Wendy Rodgers (Representative from GA-ACE Union) is asking for support for the classified staff at all Albany's Public Schools at our last Union Meeting.
Please support them by showing up at their Union's 3 picket locations on Sep 25th, 2023. GA-ACE informational statement Below.

"The Greater Albany Association of Classified Employees (GA-ACE) are engaged in a contract struggle with their Employer the Greater Albany Public School District (GAPS).

GA-ACE represents 600 employees who perform the essential function and critical work in K-12 schools. These employees are hard-working food service workers, custodians, maintenance workers, special education assistants, bus drivers, behavioral support aides and all hourly wage workers in GAPS.

For the last year, GA-ACE has been public in their campaign for a Living Wage. The Union is actively bargaining to bring about wage and health care increases at the bargaining table. Unfortunately, GAPS has been slow to respond and, at times, disrespectful to member needs at the bargaining table.

GA-ACE is a growing UNION that invites you TO SUPPORT YOUR SCHOOL HEROES.

On September 25, 2023, GA-ACE invites you to a picket and march in support of classified employees! WEAR BLUE or your Union shirt.

We have one location that is a march and picket. Please arrive and congregate at    4:15 p.m. in front of the Linn County Courthouse (300 SW 4th Ave. Albany, OR 97321) for our march across the Ellsworth bridge.

We will also have two other locations that will be standing pickets. For these pickets please arrive and congregate at the corners of Pacific and Queen & the corner of  34th and Ferry. Arrive at either location at 4:15pm and check in with the Picket Captain.

We will be picketing from 4:15pm until 5:30pm. Then we will meet in-front of the Transportation building at 2485 Ferry St SW for some food and beverage before we attend the Board meeting at 6pm. If you cannot make the picket please attend the Board meeting in support of GA-ACE in a Blue or Union shirt. "
