Holtec International in Turtle Creek employs USW workers just like US Steel E.T. works, Clairton works, and Irvin Works. Holtec, however is not a part of US Steel company. It is a separate entity.

The USW represented workers of Holtec are now a part of Local 1219.

Questions are being asked about how this affects things. Here are some of those questions:

1. Question - Will Holtec member's seniority supersede our own?

Answer - No. They are a separate company and has no connection. Seniority only exists within company boundaries.

2.  Question - Are we allowed to preference or bid to their jobs? 

Answer - No. They are a separate company. 

3. Question -  Are the Holtec workers paying dues to Local 1219?

Answer - Yes

4. Question - Can the Holtec workers run for Local 1219 union officer positions? 

Answer - Yes

5. Question - Can the Holtec workers vote in Local 1219 elections?

Answer - Yes
