The deadline for 2023 Open Enrollment is November 13, 2022. If you are not going to make any changes to your medical plan no action is required and your previous year’s elections will remain unchanged.
Action is required if you are electing or would like to continue an FSA for health or dependent care. Eligible Employees may voluntarily designate any unused funds otherwise available through the ICD Tuition Reimbursement Program to be matched to their personal contributions to a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account up to $1,800. See page 4 of the enrollment package for more information on the ICD Dependent Child Care Match Program.
If you are currently enrolled in the Consumer Driven Health Care Plan (CDHP), we strongly suggest switching over to the Preferred Provider Organization Plan (PPO). The PPO plan offers a greater benefit with less out of your pocket. In order to do this, you must fill out the Health Care Eligibility form on page 15 of your Enrollment package and submit it by November 13th 2022.
The Reimbursement of Spouse Premium program is ending January 1st 2023. If your spouse is currently taking their Employer’s insurance and no longer wishes to do so, they will need to terminate that coverage with their employer effective January 1st 2023. Even if they are not currently in their Open Enrollment period, they may select to cancel their coverage effective January 1st 2023. Please remember, your spouse has the option to keep their insurance with their Employer, however premiums incurred after January 1st 2023 will NOT be eligible for reimbursement. You will still have 36 months to claim any premiums you have paid on or before December 31st 2022.
If you have any questions regarding Open Enrollment, please contact the Benefits Committee at the Union Hall at (219) 762-6787.
