The United Steelworkers of Local 7884 have been proudly representing the members of Fording River Operations for the past 52 years, since our inception in 1971.
Fording River Operations is an open pit coal mine located north of Elkford, British Columbia and employs approximately 1000 unionized workers. Fording River Operations produces metalurgical coal which is shipped overseas and used in the production of high quality steel products.
