The employer discharged the grievant incompetence – cutting a strap on a roll with a blade, cutting a wire that resulted in $25,000 damage. Only supervisors were supposed to cut straps, and were supposed to use scissors. It was the fifth violation in 12 months, three had been for carelessness.
