Bargaining Update #10

Last week we submitted a full economic proposal. We were able to do this because we have made such steady progress addressing non-economic issues.

During last week’s bargaining we settled some of the few remaining non-economic items and made solid progress on some economic ones. We are hopeful that we will continue to make progress and come closer to an overall agreement when we return to the bargaining table in December. Typically, wages, retirement and benefits are the most difficult, complicated and last issues settled in a contract. We have a lot of work ahead of us and appreciate your support as we work to achieve our first contract here in Hampton.

We would like to take a moment to wish all of our coworkers and your families a happy Thanksgiving Holiday. While we are all tired and working more hours than we would like, let’s be thankful that we able work hard and do our best to provide for our families. Many we know are not as fortunate.

In solidarity,

Kirmett “KC” Jimmerson, Cissy Glover, Tim Barnes, David Hodge, Sederick Wilson
