Bargaining Update #9

As you know, the Company has announced that effective January 1, 2017 all employees will receive a 3% wage increase. The Union encourages and will not object to this hard earned and well deserved increase. We do, however, maintain the right and will continue to propose and bargain for additional, future increases.

In bargaining last week we reached agreement on language covering Leaves of Absence and Job Bidding. The Job Bidding language was a difficult to bargain and took some time to get right. We are confident that the agreement we reached will result in a very fair and equitable process to bid for and be awarded job openings.

We have been making steady progress resolving numerous contract language issues and believe that we will soon be able to address economic issues (Wages, Retirement, Medical, etc.)

Future bargaining sessions are scheduled for the week of November 7, 2016.
