Jason Chasm began his career at the Augusta mill in 2002, working as a Labor employee on both Paper Machine No. 1 and Paper Machine No. 2 before accepting a permanent position on PM1, where he has remained throughout his career.
Jason progressed to 4th Hand before becoming a Safety Advocate in 2011, a role in which he has served for approximately 15 years. During his career, he also served for a short period as a Lead Operator.
His commitment to safety extends beyond the mill. Jason served 10 years in the volunteer fire service, where he attained the rank of Captain, and he is OSHA 30 certified.
As a member of the USW Local 983 Executive Board and a Safety & Health Representative, Jason brings decades of mill experience, safety knowledge, and emergency-response leadership to his service of the membership.
