I know I'm a little slow in getting some updates onto this site. With the holdays done, I'm sure I'll be able to find some more time to keep things in order here.
On December 13th 2018 we held our annual retiree get-together at Valentini's Restauraunt in Chisholm. Many retirees showed up as well as active employees. This was an opportunity for many of them to see some old, familiar faces and exchange stories from back in the day. I got a chance to talk to quite a few people that I hadn't seen since I first started out in the pit. It was good to see them and let them know that we are doing our best to keep the place running and let them know that things haven't changed all that much since they left. This is a wonderful event that all of us should try to attend. Our retirees have a ton of insight on HIbbing Taconite. We all could learn a little something from them, and even get a good laugh or two.
Each retiree got a free meal courtesy of vendors and individual donations. Special thanks to all of the vendors (a list of all who donated is located below, please patronize these businesses, their support is greatly appreciated and we should always return the favor).
