Greetings:
Over the past eleven years, Black Labor Week has become a staple of resources within Gary, Indiana and surrounding communities, that leads all the way to the Chicagoland area. Steelworkers from all over the country and local community organizers work tirelessly to give back to their community that has given so much to them. This week-long event connects the community through various activities that encompass the needs of the cummunity, retirees, veterans, seniors, homeless men, women and children. It also educates and displays the contributions of Black leaders to the labor movement and the Black community that are often unheard of and/or overlooked.
In preparation for Black Labor Week 2023, we are asking you to consider our cause and to help us continue to strengthen our community efforts through a monetary donation. It's not mandatory that your Local give in order to attend. However, it will be greatly appreciated and beneficial to the week. All donations go towards supporting activites related to Black Labor Week 2023. We would also like to encourage you to join us during the various Black Labor Week activities throughout th community, during the week of February 20th-24th. This experience will not only display the heart of the city, but also give you firsthand knowledge and understanding of what it means to be part of something great in your community. Please contact Ephrin Jenkins at (219) 455-1306 with any questions and/or concerns.
