2026 WOS Scholarship Recipient

Women of Steel Local 1000 would like to share this year's 2026 Scholarship Recipient, Daisy Welch.
Daisy is a recent graduate of Jasper-Troupsburg High School with a commitment to attend Cedarville University in Ohio for Nursing (BSN), specializing in Family and Emergency Medicine.
As a small town girl living in a farming community, Daisy has developed a desire for travel.
Her desire to experience the different corners of the world combined with her passion for helping others, as well as her strong relationship with God, a vision was realized to bring medicine and healthcare to Mongolian natives. This goal can be attributed to her childhood upbringing and her personal experiences.
Daisy is the eldest child of three being raised solely by her mother. Her father passed 8 years ago and as a result the family endured tremendous hardships. In less than 2 short years they lost their family farm and their livelihood. Daisy looked to her faith for guidance and worked hard to pave a path she could be proud of.
She was the Salutatorian of her graduating class while working part-time during her high school career and is a first generation college student.
She hopes to show her siblings that anything is possible when you put in the hard work; even on the hard days, even when the deck feels like it is stacked against you, the final forming of your life story lies within your own hands.
Congratulations, Daisy.
We hope this scholarship makes your load a little bit lighter and helps you in fulfilling your dreams.
Best of Luck 💙💛
