Addison Future Fair 2026
Next Gen & WOS attended the Addison Future Fair at the highschool meeting with students in grades 9-12. The discussion with the kids on what is a Labor Union, positive attributes Unions offer to the company and workforce, along with the education of what our jobs consist of at Corning offering entry level good paying positions with a highschool diploma, trades positions, and Process Tech positions with 2 year technical degrees. Pictured is Ashton, John Stephens son a member from Diesel with 20 plus years of service. It's great to see the next generation like Ashton who is now a senior come in with excitement to see and talk to us. I remember Ashton's freshman year when he stopped by our table and I asked him who we were and what a Labor Union was, he was shy and looked at me like "How would he know" lol. This year he came into the gym full of confidence right up to our table and said "I'm ready and even quizzed my dad last night" lol 🤣. Even if Ashton doesn't make the choice to come work with us or be Union he still knows the option is out there and is educated on his rights and opportunities. That's why it's important to invest in our youth, they come from all walks of life and need to be introduced to the opportunities available to them rather it be an entry level production position requiring a highschool diploma, a trades apprenticeship, or a position after college. Thank you Ashton for putting up with our questions for 4 years and being a good sport, we wish you all the luck with wherever your future takes you!
