Laura Jones was asked to be part of an exhibit that was in the Rockwell Museum until December 31, 2021. Laura was very proud of this honor and to be photographed and featured by Christopher Walters, a local photographer. We reached out to Christopher who with Laura's husband Greg's permission agreed to donate Laura's framed photo from the Rockwell to the USW Local 1000 Union Hall to be on display in her memory. On Friday Christopher Walters brought Laura's photo to our local, where her husband Greg joined us as we hung it to be displayed where it was photographed. Laura passionately picked this spot out to be photographed by "Prosperity" a fitting tribute as Laura strived to make our country better and more prosperous, stated in Christopher's caption for the Rockwell Museum.
Laura will forever be with us in monthly meetings, bargaining, trainings, events, and benefits standing for the members she loved and fought so passionately for.
Today was a sad day, but a beautiful ceremony for a beautiful, loved, and greatly missed activist of our Union who wore so many hats mother, sister, aunt, daughter, wife, and friend. Laura you maybe gone physically from us, but your memory, fierce leadership, and determination will always live on through us. You will never be forgotten.
