Worker's Memorial Day

Members of Local 1000 WOS and Next Gen Steelworkers committee joined the Southern Tier Labor Council at Sperr Memorial Park in honor of Workers Memorial Day. We heard stories from different unions about work place safety, tragedies of their loved ones injured or fatalities in the workforce, and how Unions have helped in force stricter safety standards and laws throughout the years. We honored NYS Trooper Andrew Sperr by placing flowers on his memorial and sharing the heart wrenching story of the tragic day Officer Sperr lost his life in the line of duty.
